Glasgow Kitchen Fashion 12/13

Kitchen Fashion Glasgow

If you are looking to redesign your kitchen in Glasgow, you may be interested in the latest bespoke kitchen fashion trends. Last year was all about ‘shabby chic’ and a more traditional, old-fashioned style complete with wooden units. The aim was rustic and homely like a farmhouse kitchen but with the best of modern technology built into it.

This year has seen the rise of a more minimalist style of bespoke kitchen. People are choosing block colours for their units and tiles. Slab fronted high gloss, handle less units and drawers are in fashion. They are practical for small kitchens and family kitchens, especially for those with small children. This is because handleless doors save space and remove hazards such as getting caught or knocking into door handles while you are cooking. The “Remo” in the PWS range is a beautiful contemporary kitchen available in Beige (below centre), Alabaster, Gloss White and Dove Grey (left). This range is available with curved units also.

This year bespoke kitchens in Glasgow have become focused on space saving techniques and storage particularly with regards to drawers and pullouts. Base units have become wider and deeper. Deep drawers with integrated shallow pullouts or built in dividers are part of these base units.

Black and white worktops in Corian, Hi-Macs or Staron are a popular choice, they go with coloured or white units. The new worktop shape has rounded or square edges and a smooth finish, and if solid surface, can be polished to a high gloss. Also breakfast bars are back in fashion with curved edges and shapes to match the worktops. Breakfast bars and stools are a great space saving trick for smaller kitchens as they take up less space than a table and chairs.

If you are thinking about a bespoke kitchen in Glasgow, think about space, storage and slab fronts. Your kitchen should be a place where memories can be made, be it baking cakes with your little ones, making dinner with your husband for the first time, burning the Christmas turkey or blowing out birthday candles. To achieve this great space, you’ll need an open space with room for manoeuvring and lots of storage space for your favorite mugs, yummy snacks and those utensils that you've never used.

We tailor our services to you so that you get a personalised service and a satisfying result.  For example if you’re a busy mum, you want a kitchen which allows you to have everything to hand so that you can juggle serving breakfast, making school lunches and planning dinner without getting frustrated. Glenlith Interiors can help you. With wipe clean worktops (like solid surface Corian, Hi-Macs or Staron), an integrated dishwasher or washing machine and handy storage ideas we can create a kitchen that is mum friendly.
